John David Venable, age 81, of Bryant, Arkansas, died April 23, 2017. He was born December 23, 1935 in England, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by parents, Ward and Ad Venable, four sisters and two great-grandchildren. Survived by his wife, Mary Steele Venable, daughters: Regina Beck (Gary), Patricia Owen (John), Kimberly Tyson (Scott) and son David Toland (Bendi); 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, brothers: Bud, Leonard, and Keith Venable (Sandy); sisters: Katherine McHughes (Donald) and Angela Sallis and by a large number of nieces and nephews. John attended Abundant Life Assembly of God in Bryant. He loved the Lord, his family, history, genealogy, hunting, sports; his favorite was baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a long standing member of Sons of Confederate Veterans. John retired from Central Arkansas Water Works. Visitation will be at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills at 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, with services following at 2 p.m. officiated by Pastor Al Womack.
