Garrett Alan Hogan, 16, of Carlisle, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 25, 2017. He was born October 25, 2000 in North Little Rock, the son of Douglas Hogan and Kate Neal Bitely. Garrett was a sophomore at Carlisle High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the track team. Garrett was a Life Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 55. He was an exceptional hockey player on the Little Rock Aces high school team. Garrett was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed reading, backpacking and camping. Garrett was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock and regularly attended Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Carlisle. Garrett is survived by his father Douglas Hogan of Carlisle, his mother and stepfather Kate and Hamilton Bitely of Little Rock, his sister Brooke and brother Jacob. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Marsa Salazar of Los Angeles, Calif.; his maternal grandfather, David Neal of Little Rock, his paternal grandmother Pat Hogan of Carlisle, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Boyd Funeral Home, 207 East Second Street Lonoke, Ark. 72086. The Funeral will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at Carlisle United Methodist Church 215 East 3rd Street, Carlisle, Ark. 72024. Services will be followed by a private graveside burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Garrett Hogan Youth Hockey Fund.
