Elder Moses Sparks, 61, of Fordyce, Arkansas passed away on April 18, 2017 in Fordyce. He was born August 27, 1955, in Fordyce, Ark. to Rosemary Sparks and John "Duff" Owens. He was reared by his late grandparents, Jerry and Eliza Sparks. He gave his life to the Lord in 1980 at Straight Street Church of God in Christ in Thornton, Ark., under the leadership of Elder Frank Walker. In 2012, he surrendered to God by founding True Believers Church of God in Christ, in Fordyce, Ark. He was preceded in death by his dear mother, Rosemary Sparks Nelson and his stepfather, Thomas Nelson; his father, John "Duff" Owens, and his sister, Diane Nelson. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years Marilyn Rainey Sparks, one son, Jerrion Sparks; two daughters, Ursula Sparks and Anastasia Mitchell ; three brothers, Jeffery Darrough, James Darrough Jr. and Chris Nelson; three sisters, Jean Parham, Bridget Beard and Wanda Jordan; two grandchildren a host of other relatives, friend and his True Believers church family. Visitation will be Friday, April 28, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Word Lives Church Of God In Christ in Fordyce, Arkansas. Celebration of Life service will be held, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at First Assembly of God at 11 a.m. in Fordyce, Arkansas.
