Carlee Bushong Sr., 82, of Greenbrier went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 26, 2017. He was born December 15, 1934 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late William Louis Bushong and Gracie Shepherd Bushong Hervey. After his father passed away when he was two, Carlee was raised by his step-father, Arlen Hervey. Carlee was a retired construction worker and a member of the Pentecostals of Greenbrier. Carlee took it upon himself to get an education by attending night school in his 30's. He was a faithful man who always put God first in his life. The whole family holds many memories of his walk with God, his Bible reading and singing. He loved spending time with his family and swinging his great-grands on his tree swing. He is survived by his wife of 63 plus years, Shirley Bushong, three daughters, Brenda Allred (Randy) of Bridgman, Mich., Barbara Thompson (David) of Cabot, Ark., Mechshelle Tomsheck (Joshua) of St. Joseph, Mich., son, Carlee Bushong, Jr. companion (Belynda) of Conway, Ark., sister, Louise Lane of Marked Tree, 23 grandchildren and big papa to 23 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents, daughter, Linda Sue Bushong Kovacs, and a brother William Louis Bushong. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Pentecostals of Greenbrier with Pastor Bradley Burns and former Pastor Bro. Paul Mize with burial in Republican Cemetery.
