Jerry Van Jennings

Jerry Van Jennings, 68, of Russell, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 1, 2017. He was born June 8, 1949 in Bradford a son of the late Garland and Sylvia Kneel Jennings. Jerry was an avid sports fan and loved the Arkansas Razorbacks and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed holidays. Jerry loved dressing up during Halloween and participating in 4th of July festivities. A very community minded man, Jerry poured his heart into the beautification of Russell. He worked diligently cleaning and mowing throughout town and offering his help wherever needed. He was a very committed Christian and read and studied his Bible nightly. Jerry attended The River in Judsonia. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Jennings; two children, Jason Jennings (Rachel) and Dayna Hughes (Stephen); sister, Peggy Stuckey (Mike); brother, Terry Jennings (Debbie); grandchildren, Carrigan and Colin Hughes and Jaylon, Eden and Ranger Jennings; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda Sue Jennings, Renee Garr (Tony) and Brenda Poole (Howard); mother-in-law, Mildred Harvey and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Garry Jennings. Visitation will be Friday, August 4, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Services will begin at 11 a.m. with Bro. Keith Tomlinson officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob – Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
