Lynn Roe King, age 70 of Cave City, formerly of White County, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 in Cave City, Ark. He was born Oct. 17, 1946 in Searcy, Ark., to Lem B. and Sarah "Lady" King. He was a member of Clearwater Missionary Baptist Church at Providence, served in public education for 42 years as Agriculture Teacher, Vocational Ed Coordinator, Director of Area Vocational School (Vo-Tech), Superintendent of Strawberry, River Valley, Lewisville, Bradley and Midland School Districts. He was also a member of the Optimist Club, an avid ASU fan and supporter of ASU athletics, enjoyed rebuilding vehicles, loved his cattle farm in White County, was a hunter, helped develop and was a member of the NOWCO Volunteer Fire Department and the Water Department. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Oleta King of Cave City; one son, Shawn King and wife Teresa of Hot Springs; one daughter, Tara Harvey and husband Daniel of Ferris, Texas; two step-daughters, Brittany Doyle and husband Jody of Saffell, Ark., Leslie Oliver and husband Brady of Lynn, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, Dylan, Christopher and James Harvey, Tanner and Cassidy King, Bryson, Summer and Hadley Doyle, Brayden and Garrett Oliver; one brother, Sid King and wife Judy of Clinton, Ark.; one sister, Deanna Sullivan of Batesville, Ark.; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lem B. and Lady King. Visitation is Sunday from 6-8 p.m., at Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m., at Clearwater Missionary Baptist Church at Providence with interment to follow at Providence Cemetery.
