Walter Bruce Haun, age 92, of Jasper, Ga., passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Kennestone Wellstar Hospital in Marietta, Ga. Born Jan. 28, 1925 to Walter Reid Haun and Minnie Pearl (Powell) Haun in Little Rock, Ark., he is survived by daughters, Meredith Haun Carter (Nathan) of Jasper, Christina Haun Hurd of Savannah, granddaughter, Amanda Hutson of Savannah, brother, Warren Scott Haun (Claire) of North Little Rock, Ark., and a host of cousins. He is predeceased by both of his parents, son, Walter Reid Haun ll, and his beloved Claire. Walter was a graduate of Memphis State University and spent the majority of his work career as a structural materials sales representative. Serving in the U.S. 3rd Army during WWll and as a CID agent in Korea, he was awarded the Purple Heart. Known for his love of history and birding enthusiast, he spent his retirement in the fellowship of these interests. Following cremation, a memorial celebration of life will be held on Aug. 26, 2017, at North Little Rock First United Methodist Church; 6701 JFK Blvd.; North Little Rock, Ark., 72116.
