Muriel Hays Gilbert

On August 13, 2017, Muriel Gilbert, 87 of Sherwood, Ark. completed her long journey home. Finally, she is in the company of her "daddy" that she has so longed to see. Her pain is gone, her mind is clear, and she is once again whole. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Lillie Hays, and her husband, Junior P. "Red" Gilbert, the love of her life. She is survived by daughters, Gayle DeLeuil and Nan Gentry, both of Sherwood; two grandchildren, Michael (Celeste) DeLeuil and Stephanie (Craig) Lantz; four great-grandchildren, Zayne Derden, Audrey DeLeuil, Isabella DeLeuil and Jaime DeLeuil. Graveside services will be at Drake Cemetery in Star City at 11 a.m. Thursday with Bro. Robert Greene officiating. There will be no formal visitation. A memorial service will be held at The Connection Church of Sherwood on August 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor may be made to The Connection Church of Sherwood, 14322 Hwy. 107, Sherwood, Ark. 72076. A special thank you to Dr. Raul Ramirez and the nurses at St. Vincent North in Sherwood. Their loving care will forever be remembered in our hearts.
