Dorlene McWilliams Mason, 90, passed away gracefully Tuesday, August 15, in Little Rock. A longtime resident of Magnolia and Waldo, she was born on Feb. 16, 1927, in the Spotsville Community in Columbia County, Ark., to Jewel White and Aubrey McWilliams. She was a loving and unwavering mother, a wise and warmhearted grandmother and great-grandmother, a steadfast and caring friend, a sweet and, sometimes, mischievous soul, and a pretty fair fisherman in her day. Preceding her in death were her parents; the woman who raised her, Eddie Mae Burns; her twin sister, Dorothy McWilliams; a niece, Pat Robertson; and a grandson, Brandon Cox. Survivors include two daughters, Chandra Holmes of Little Rock and Marilyn Cox Mitchell (Jack) of Little Rock; a son, Jackie Cox (Jewel) of El Dorado; seven grandchildren, Gina Hutson (Kyle) of Little Rock, Jason Kelly (Vanessa) of Jackson, Miss., Ben Mitchell (Jenefer) of Hattiesburg, Miss., Aaron Mitchell of Little Rock, Claire Mitchell of Little Rock, Shane Cox of Gatesville, Texas and Kaitlin Jones of Norphlet; five great-grandchildren, and a niece, Ramona Thomas of Little Rock. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.
