Mary Elizabeth Nixon

Mary Elizabeth Nixon passed away peacefully on August 13, 2017. She was born to the late Maxie Earl and Oza Louella Brown on March 7, 1924 in Damascus, Arkansas. Mary was blessed to meet the love of her life and married, John David Nixon Sr. in Harrison, Arkansas, in 1941. Together, they were blessed with two beautiful children; John D. Nixon and Betsy Watson. During her working career, she was a secretary for the USAF Civil Service for 29 years and then became a tour director for Dan Dipert & Cosmopolitan Travel Agencies until retirement. Mary was also a member of the Park Hill Baptist Church. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, along with her sister; Betty Martin Cossey. She is survived by, her son; John D. Nixon of Dallas, Texas, her daughter; Betsy Watson of Kingsport, Tennessee, three grandchildren; Glen D. Watson of Mountain View, California, Dale C. Watson and Grant O. Watson, both of Kingsport, Tennessee, two nieces; Cindy Collins and Karen Cossey, one nephew; Dale Cossey, son-in-law; Jeff Watson, and lifelong friend; Jean Hiser. A Graveside Service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, August 18th at the Little Rock National Cemetery, 2523 Springer Blvd., Little Rock, Arkansas.
