Alice Maybury Middlekauff, 87, of Conway and Hot Springs Village, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, at Crestpark of Wynne. Alice was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, on March 10, 1930, to Owen and Opha Maybury. The Middlekauffs were members of Village United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village. Alice was a former elementary school teacher in Conway. After retirement, she taught herself how to quilt, making dozens of quilts for her children and grandchildren. Alice loved spending time with her grandchildren, teaching them to quilt, taking them to museums, and spoiling them with gifts. She is survived by her husband; her sister, Doris Trendler of Denver, CO; her children, Steve (Laura) Middlekauff of Conway, Susan (Donnie) Johnston of Wynne, and Nancy (Todd) Thompson of Opelousas, La.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 19, at the First United Methodist Church chapel in Conway. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the First United Methodist Church in Conway.
