Janive Segraves Blanchard

Janive Segraves Blanchard, 93, of Russellville passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born June 15, 1924 in Strawberry, Arkansas to Charles Homer and Beulah Fortenberry Segraves. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics and then earned her Master's Degree in Education at the University of Arkansas. Janive was retired and spent her career as an Educator, where her passion was for Home Economics. She is survived by her sons, Warren Martin Blanchard of Little Rock and Charles Blanchard (Cynthia) of Russellville; two grandchildren, Dr. Mary Pat Hardman (John) of Fayetteville and Chip Blanchard (Dr. Leslie Blanchard) of Russellville; great-grandchildren, Emma and Abby Hardman of Fayetteville and Kate and Bowen Blanchard of Russellville and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert H. Blanchard and her brother, Don Segraves. The family would like to thank her caregivers at Brookdale Assisted Living and Stella Manor Nursing Home. Memorials may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas or First United Methodist Church in Russellville, Arkansas. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Lakewood United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home.
