Milton Wayne Dawdy

MILTON WAYNE DAWDY passed away on Aug., 22 at St. Vincent's in Little Rock at the age of 74. He was a proud military American, retiring as a Master Sargent from the Air Force. He then pursued another career in the US postal service. He was a member of the American Legion,VFW, DAV, and Moose Lodge. Wayne loved traveling the United States with his wife in their motor home. Whenever possible, he brought his granddaughters along, for they were the love of his life. He was a longtime member of the Arkansas Travelers Camping Club. When he wasn't camping, he was pursuing his other passions, fishing and deer hunting. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Morris (Jody) and Thelma Elizabeth Stephens Dawdy of Delhi, La. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margie Cowart Dawdy, son Jody Dawdy of Big Springs, Texas. Daughter Sharon (Steve) Howard of Cabot, Ark., granddaughters Stephanie and Sierra Howard of Cabot, brother Eddie (Marilyn) Dawdy of Sulphur, Louisiana, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m., at Smith Sherwood Funeral home in Sherwood with services at 10:30 Tuesday, Aug. 29 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock at noon.
