Elwood C. Harris

Elwood C. Harris passed peacefully into eternity August 28, 2017. He was of the Christian faith. Born December 30, 1928 to Wells and Gertrude Harris. He went to school until age of 16, then started working at his father's sawmill. He worked in timber all his life. He lived by the golden rule, "In everything do unto others as you would have them do to you." Matthew 7:12. He was married to the love of his life Annie Garringer for 67 years. Preceding in death are his parents, wife, daughter, Barbara and granddaughter, Heather Stocks. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Simmons, brothers, Larry and Joe David Harris; children, Janice Staton and Woody Harris; grandchildren, Heath Stocks, Grant Staton, Maribeth Harris and Grace Staton; many dear cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Belinda McEuen, and Arkansas Hospice, angels of mercy. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8, p.m. with Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Friday, September 1 at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery.
