Mary Madeliene Burgess

Mary Madeliene Burgess, 93, of Prattsville, Ark., formerly of Eudora, Ark. passed away Monday, December 4, 2017. She was born in Bradley, Ark. a daughter of the late Lee and Lorraine Thomas Cheney. She was a creative, loving, caring and giving person who had the patience of Job. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Guy G. Burgess; sisters, Marie Procell and Margaret Emerson; brothers, Thomas Cheney and Travis Cheney. Survivors include her daughter, Guyliene Rodriguez and her husband Juan of Prattsville, Ark.; son, Dr. James G. Burgess and his wife Jeanette of Russelville, Ark.; brothers, J.L. Cheney of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Horace Cheney of Bastrop, La.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Mt.
