FRANKLIN R. NEWTON, 85, of Little Rock departed this life on Dec. 8, 2017. Frank was born, raised, and educated in Louisiana. He was a former high school teacher. He moved to Arkansas in 1961 as District Manager for Cities Service Oil Company and enjoyed living in Conway, Fort Smith, and Little Rock. Frank retired as Vice President of Operations at Affiliated Foods in 1998 after 29 years of service. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army and former Gideon. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School and singing in the church choir. He also enjoyed golf and traveling. He was a member of Immanual Baptist Church and was most happy when he was working at the Food Pantry and at the recreation desk at the church. He was married to his devoted wife of 56 years, Pat, and the father of three wonderful sons, Brian, Todd (Jill), and Josh (Rachael) and the grandfather of seven spectacular grandchildren – Beau, Baron, Jack, Drew, Lily, Elle, and Claire. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Food Pantry, Alzheimers Arkansas, Gideons International, and the Friendly Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m., Friday Dec. 15, 2017 at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211, (501) 224-8300.
