Joyce Dean Clapper

Joyce Dean Clapper returned to her Heavenly Father Nov. 19, 2017, at the age of 78 at Montereau Retirement Community in Tulsa, Okla. Joyce was born May 4, 1939, in Jane, Mo., to Jerry Henry Clapper and Dixie (McCool) Clapper. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1957 and The University of Tulsa with her Bachelor of Science in Accounting after which she became a CPA. Joyce's working career included Mid-Continent Casualty, Sooner Pipe & Supply and U.S. Steel Corp., after which she retired from Tulsa Community College where she taught finance. Joyce married Glenn Louis Martin on Jan. 3, 1993. Joyce was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Tulsa, and later attended South Tulsa Baptist Church with her husband, Glenn. In 2014, Joyce and Glenn moved to Montereau Retirement Community in Tulsa, Okla., where Joyce's dementia could be cared for. Joyce Dean is predeceased by her husband and is survived by one brother, Jerry Dale Clapper of Modesto, California. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Dec. 16 at the Word of Life Church, 808 SW 14th Street, Bentonville, Ark.
