Otha Temple age 105, of Johnsville, Ark. died Saturday, December 9th at Bellevue Nursing and Rehab in Monticello, Ark. He was born November 29th, 1912 a son of the late David Temple and Maude Orr Temple. Otha attended the Johnsville School which was across the road from his home until the 6th grade. He was a very young man in the middle twenty's when he worked on the original road crew that forged the Johnsville road with draft horses and mules, which lead to Warren, Ark. and is now HWY 8. He worked in the ship yards in Orange, Texas in the 1940's, after his time in the ship yards, he returned to Johnsville, Ark. and began logging timber and farming tomatoes, he then started Temple Forestry and Tree Planting and reforested many acres of timberland in Bradley County. Otha was a member and elder in the Palestine United Methodist Church, he was the custodian of the Palestine Cemetery fund for decades and looked after the cemetery as well. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dovie Mae Lowry Temple, a son, James Harold Temple, two grandsons, Joey Temple and Jim Doug Ederington, brothers, Purman Temple and Willie Lamar Temple, sisters, Maxine Temple Jones and Christine Temple Taylor also preceded him in death. Otha is survived by a daughter in law, Barbara Temple, Queen City, Texas; four grandchildren, Jimmy Temple and spouse Machelle, Johnsville, Ark., Theodore John "Ted" Temple, Scottsdale Arizona, Tricia Ann Temple and spouse Evelyn of Florida, and Carole Ann Breashers, Atlanta, Texas; two brothers, Bradley Temple, Little Rock, Ark. and Van Temple and spouse Annette, Warren, Ark.; five great-grandchildren, Mistie and spouse Lance, Jennie, Josh, Christopher, Mathew and spouse Kristian; nine great-great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Autumn, Hazel, Laycee, Abbee, Kylie, Kambri, Anne Lee and Braxton. Funeral services 10 a.m. Friday, December 15th, at Frazer's Funeral Home. Burial in Palestine Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Visitation 6 till 8 p.m. Thursday, December 14th at Frazer's.
