Reba Sanderlin Harper, 94, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Trinity Village Medical Center. She was born April 13, 1923 in Monticello, Arkansas, daughter of Judge Roy L. and Ethel Kizer Sanderlin. Mrs. Harper was reared and received her early education in Drew County, graduating from Drew Central High School. She was a "war bride", marrying her high school sweetheart, Billie Owen Harper, in October of 1944. After living in El Paso (Fort Bliss), Texas for a short time, they moved to Pine Bluff. They were members of Lakeside United Methodist Church in their early years. Mr. Harper died December 13, 1981. Mrs. Harper later became a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff. She thoroughly enjoyed music and had a gift for playing the piano by ear. Mrs. Harper also enjoyed playing in her bridge club and serving as a volunteer at Trinity Village for many years. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, R.L. Sanderlin; and sister, Louise Hadfield. Survivors include her sister, Colleen Colbert of Greenville, Mississippi; son, Stephen Harper and his wife, Karen Elfrank Harper, of Little Rock; grandson, Frederick Harper and his wife, Lauren, of Little Rock; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Kenneth Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery in Drew County. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until service time at Robinson's.
