Frances Hindman Arnold

Frances Hindman Arnold, age 91, passed away on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017 in Rogers, Ark. She was born in Ouachita County, Ark., to William James Hindman and Ethel Riffe Hindman both of Chidester, Ark. Frances was the youngest of seven and preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Ewell Frank Hindman (Cynthia) of Crowley, La.; Silas Gilbert HIndman (Merlene) of El Dorado, Ark.; William Doss Hindman of Shreveport, La.; Porter Joseph Hindman (Olivene) of Chidester, Ark.; and two sisters Lillian Hindman Berryhill (Robert Arthur Berryhill) and Gladys Hindman Sanders, both of Chidester, Ark. She is survived by her husband of 68 years William Frank Arnold of Rogers, Ark.; a daughter Frankie Arnold Novak and son-in-law Bryan Novak of Rogers, Ark.; and a sister-in-law Lois Fowler Hindman (wife to William Doss Hindman) of Shreveport, La. Frances was a life long educator. Her Undergraduate work was completed from Henderson State Teachers College, Arkadelphia, Ark., and Graduate work was completed from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Ark. She was a career public school educator and taught at Chidester, Ark., Paul Pewitt, Texas, Bauxite, Ark., Hot Springs, Ark., and Lakeside Schools in Hot Springs, Ark. She was an active member of multiple organizations: Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Delta Kappa, Hot Springs Classroom Teachers Association, Arkansas Education Association, and Founder of the Garland County Educator's Federal Credit Union. Frances favorite pastime was to have long conversations with friends and family. She loved to interact with all ages of children, but especially the little ones. She also enjoyed debating politics with anyone that dared to challenge. She was best known among close family and friends for her role as Santa each year during the holidays. Visitations will be Tuesday Dec. 19 from 5:30-7 p.m., at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, Ark., and Wednesday Dec. 20 from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., at Red Hill United Methodist Church in Chidester, Ark. The Funeral Service will start at 1:30 p.m., at the Red Hill United Methodist Church, Chidester, Ark.
