James Arold Crowder, 78, of Belton passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 in Belton. A graveside service will take place at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Ferndale, Arkansas on Sunday, Dec. 24 at 3 p.m. James was born on May 6, 1939 in Tupelo, Mississippi to Clyde and Avis Emmaline Crowder. He graduated from Joe T. Robinson High School in 1957. James served eight years in the Arkansas National Guard. He also worked for AT&T in Little Rock for many years before retiring. He married Cleda Crowder and she preceded him in death.He moved to Belton in 2015. James was also preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Ruthie Guida, and his brother, Jerry Crowder. James is survived by a son, Jon Crowder of North Little Rock, Arkansas, three daughters, Cindy Douglas of San Antonio, Lisa Crowder of Belton, and Pamela Verdin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, nine grandchildren, Kylie Crowder, Jaime Crowder, Zachary Poole, Jessica Poole, Alex Hardnet, Matthew Hardnet, Stevie Ray Crowder, Madison Crowder, and Stephanie Shire, as well as six great-grandchildren. Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
