Mildred Holiman Morehead Brown, 95, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant, Arkansas, surrounded by family. She was born in Fenter, Arkansas, on April 1, 1922, to Henry Lee and Flossie Segers Holiman. Mildred was a long-time employee of Sterling Department Store and bookkeeper for Huey & Morehead Garage both in Benton. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton. Mildred and her late husband, Francis Morehead, helped establish and grow Calvary Baptist Church of Benton for many years and later helped grow Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant. Mildred especially enjoyed working with and teaching teenagers in these churches. She is survived by her loving daughter, Janis Morehead Jordan (Jim) of Hot Springs Village; six grandchildren, Tracey Morehead and Rod Morehead (Karen) of Benton, Keri Jordan Bone (Mike) of Little Rock, Brian Morehead (Andrea) of Benton, Matt Jordan (Crystal) of Hot Springs, and Mark Morehead of Little Rock; nine great-grandchildren, Nicki Morehead, Rodney Morehead, Kennedy Morehead, Jordie Bone, Abby Barlow, Tucker Otwell, Grant Morehead, Jayden Morehead, and Will Jordan; and several nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 57 1/2 years, Arthur Francis Morehead, who was the love of her life; her second husband, Charles William "Bill" Brown, who was her good friend and companion; two sons, Wayne Morehead of Hot Springs and Steve Morehead (Cindy) of Little Rock; and four brothers and three sisters. Pallbearers will be Rod Morehead, Brian Morehead, Matt Jordan, Mike Bone, Rodney Morehead, Jim Cook, Jim McClintock, and Dan Ivy. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas, with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at Ashby's and continue until service time. Entombment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity, First Baptist Church of Benton, Arkansas, or Saline Memorial Hospice House.
