Benjamin "Dock" Thomason

Benjamin G. (Dock) Thomason, 94, of Benton, passed away on Dec, 22, 2017. He was born on April 7, 1923 in Tinsman, Ark., to the late Charles and Myrtle Thomason. Dock was enlisted in the Civilian Conservation Corps and served in the United States Army during WWII. He was retired from Alcoa and was an avid hunter and fisherman; he especially enjoyed fox hunting trials and showing his hunting dogs. Dock loved watching and participating in the Chuck Wagon Races. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Thomason, whom he married in 1946, parents, brother, Noel, sisters, Alpha, Florice, Melvie and Wilma. Dock leaves behind to cherish his memory, four children, Linda (Tom) Browning, Randall Everett Thomason, Donna (Lonnie) Marshall, Benny Thomason, granddaughters, Crystal (Doug), Teresa and Melissa, grandsons, David, Phillip, Mike (Vangie), Russ, great grandchildren, Karis( Shawn), Fisher( Cassie), Bree, Jocie, Robert (Cortney), Justin, Ian (Brianna) Brayden and Braylee, great great grandchildren, Callie, Kenley, Mackenzie, Kyndal, Breht and Kylie. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Ashby Funeral Home. Family will hold Memorial graveside services on Dec. 28 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Harmony Cemetery in Haskell.
