Wilburn Strayhorn

Wilburn "Slim" Strayhorn, 95, of Searcy, Ark., went to heaven, Dec. 22, 2017 to be with Evelyn (2013), his wife of 66 years. They were married Valentine's Day 1946. Wilburn loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a World War II veteran and received several metals including a Purple Heart. He retired from AP&L in Searcy. Wilburn is survived by his sister; Geneva Haley of Judsonia, brother-in-law; Buddy Phillips (Jane) of Searcy, sister-in-law; Dorothy Phillips of Searcy, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A special thanks goes to his caregivers (he loved you) and to his Veterans Administration Health Care team. We couldn't have done it without you. He will be missed. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 26th from 5-7 p.m. at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 27th at 10 a.m. at White County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donate to the charity of your choice. All services entrusted to Searcy McEuen.
