Karen Lawson, 63, of White Hall, died Sunday, December 24, 2017. Born Jo Karen Cresswell January 12, 1954 in Pine Bluff, she was the daughter of Kenneth Raymond Cresswell and Mary JoAnne Dobson Cresswell. Karen was reared and received her early education in Grady graduating from Grady High School. She earned her Bachelor's in Education from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and her Master's in Education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She passionately and lovingly taught school for almost 39 years. Karen started her career in the Grady School District before moving to the White Hall School District. She retired in 2012 from Moody Elementary School. Karen was a member of White Hall United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her loving husband, Walter Lee Lawson of White Hall; son, Jordan Lee Lawson of White Hall; four sisters, Debbie (Harold) Anderson of Hot Springs, Kathy (Arlen) Griffin of Sherwood, Pam Riegler of Grady and Sharon (John) Crass of Monticello; and brother, Ken Cresswell of Alma. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017 at White Hall United Methodist Church with Reverend Jacob Lynn officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Cranford Funeral Home.
