Walter Quincy Smith, 99, of North Little Rock, passed away on December 23, 2017. He was born in Perry, Iowa on August 30, 1918 to Charles and Rachel Smith. He was a World War II and Pearl Harbor survivor. He retired after 37 years of service from the North Little Rock Water Department. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in North Little Rock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby (Webb) Smith; sons, Eddie Quincy Smith and Larry Edward Smith; twin brother, Paul David Smith, and his second wife, Sandy Mann Smith. He is survived by daughter-in-law, Glenda (Beavers) Smith; two granddaughters, Melissa (Clint) Hilson and Michelle (Michael) Pafford; six great-grandchildren: Hunter and Hayden Hilson, Connor, Anna Claire, Brooks and Bryce Burrow, all of Benton; grandsons Eric and Aaron Belvins of Aurora, Colorado; nephew, Mark Webb and stepsons, Karl (Renee)Mann, Larry and Mark Mann. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their extraordinary care he received while in hospice care at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 29th in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, (501) 835-3515. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
