JOHN BRUCE STREETT, from Eudora, Ark., was born July 25, 1931. He died Dec. 29, 2017 from pneumonia. He grew up in Grandlake, Ark., a small community outside Eudora. After graduating from Eudora High School and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville school of architecture, he joined the Army. While spending two years in Korea he learned to love classical music and that tents and below freezing temperatures don't mix. On returning he began work in Little Rock for Wittenberg Delony and Davidson Architects doing working drawings for churches, schools, prisons and hospitals. Retiring after 32 years he then worked part time five years for several firms. He served for many years on the Building Commission of the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock serving churches in the state. His maternal grandmother "Nanny" transplanted her love for gardening to him. It became a lifelong hobby trying to grow flowers of all types. Any vacation would include side trips touring gardens. While recovering from back surgery, bread baking became an interest. His sourdough potato bread won 1st place at the Arkansas Livestock Show.
