Martha Jo Trimble

Martha Jo Trimble, age 84, passed away at her home in Springdale, Ark., on Saturday, Jan., 28, 2017. Born Oct. 23, 1932 to Mack and Mable Wolfe on the family farm in Accident Community, near Springdale, she attended the Accident Grade School and Springdale High School, graduating in 1950. After high school Martha worked as a waitress at the A.Q. Chicken House while attending Fayetteville Business College where she trained to be a legal secretary. After graduation she was employed by Fayetteville Attorney Rex Perkins. Martha married Carroll Trimble on Dec. 23, 1957. In the 1960s, Martha graduated from Ruth's Beauty College and became a licensed cosmetologist. She also worked for many years as a legal transcriptionist. Later, Martha worked in the jewelry department at Sam's Clubs in Springdale and Fayetteville, retiring in 2010 at age 78 after 20 years of service. A lifelong Democrat, she was keenly interested in civil rights and improving the lives of disadvantaged and working Americans. Martha greatly enjoyed playing piano and singing with her friends and family. Music and laughter were always present in her life. Survivors include her sister, Rosemary Satterlee of Columbia, Mo.; her daughter, Kim Cash and her husband, Jim of Ft. Smith, Ark.; her son, Joe Trimble and his wife, Dina of Springdale; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Honoring Martha's wishes, she will be interred in a private service at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale.
