Dixie Lea Wood

Dixie Lea Wood, age 89, of Winslow passed away Friday Feb. 10, 2017 in Huntsville. She was born March 15, 1927 in Ninnekah, Okla., the daughter of John Cooley and Jessie Hyacinth Wood Lea. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Otis "Buster" Wood, one son Freeman Lea Wood and one brother Grady Lea. She was a homemaker. She is survived by three sons, J.R. Wood and wife Stormy, Wesley Wood and wife Lenita, Freddie Wood and wife Helen, all of Winslow: two daughters Chris Center and husband Ron, of Wichita, Kan., and Marketa Wood of Fayetteville; a sister Melva Martinez; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday Feb. 13 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Winslow First Assembly of God. Interment will follow at Brentwood Cemetery.
