Lizzie Ellen Johnson Gladden, 94 of Springdale passed away, Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at Shiloh Health and Rehab in Springdale She was born Feb. 22, 1922 in Combs, Ark., to Russell and Odie Smith Johnson. Lizzie worked for Sears in the catalog store as the manager for 15 years. Her family was active in the Rodeo of the Ozarks. Her love of the rodeo, which she never missed, was paramount and she always made her way up to the Buckle Club, her last trip was in 2016. She was a member at Berry Street Baptist Church. Lizzie was a giving person always willing to help anyone and her involvement in youth activities was important. Lizzie never met a stranger and you knew she was life of the party when you saw her contagious smile. Her activities included the PTA at Washington Elementary, bowling in many leagues and becoming an accomplished pie baker. Granny Liz will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty years, Johnny Gladden and one brother and four sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Saronda "Sue" Gladden Canup and husband Gary of Springdale; two sons, John Gladden and Butch Gladden and wife Sherry all of Springdale; grandchildren: Cindy Fitzgerald and husband Dwayne, Carie Edwards and husband Todd, John Gladden, Jr. and wife Lisa, Joel Gladden and wife Michelle, Stephanie Sisco and husband Trevor, Renee Gladden Kemper and husband Aaron, Kash Gladden, Hayley Montgomery and husband Jeff and Maggie Harp; great-grandchildren: Robert Fitzgerald and wife Alex, Ryan Fitzgerald and wife Amanda, Kennedy Edwards, Ty Edwards, Chole Gladden, Callen Gladden, Scott Gladden, Cheyenne Gladden, Jayden Sisco, Trenton Sisco, Dakota Cornwell, Dominique Kemper, Kenley Lamberson, Dalynn Montgomery; great-great-grandchildren: Morrison Fitzgerald, Oliver Fitzgerald. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Pastor Guy Durkee officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
