Velma W. Loux Godwin

Velma W. Loux Godwin, of Beebe, Ark., daughter of the late James William Loux and Mertle Velma Smith Loux was born on Oct. 10, 1919 in Vilonia, Ark. She died Feb. 9, 2017 at the Beebe Retirement Center of Beebe, Ark. at the age of 97 years 3 months and 30 days. She was united in marriage to Johnny Floyd Godwin. Three sons were born to this union. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Beebe. Ark. Ms. Godwin retired from Kellwood Inc. after many years. Survivors include: sons, Edgar (JoAnn) Godwin, Beebe, Ark., and Dale Godwin, Sherwood, Ark.She had six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Johnny Floyd Godwin, and one son, Johnny Gale Godwin and her parents. Pallbearers will be: grandsons: Eric Godwin, Aaron Godwin, John Godwin, Steve Godwin, Clint Godwin and C. J. Parker, grandson-in-law. Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Beebe, Ark., with burial to follow at 2 p.m. in the Agnos Cemetery, Agnos, Ark. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 from 9 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Doty Family Funeral Service of Salem.
