Kathern W. Brand

Kathern Wadene Lee Carden Brand, 88, passed away Sunday, February 12th, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving mother to Jake Carden, Leigh Mullens, Shirley Plant, Vickey Nelson and John Carden, Jr. with eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A visitation celebrating her life will be held the day before her birthday on Saturday, February 18th, at 1 p.m. at Perryville United Methodist Church fellowship hall with a private graveside service at a later date. Mom loved to dance, travel and enjoy her family. As a single mom she did more with us with her small salary as our only resource than most families got to experience. Mom taught us to never judge others by their economical or educational status but by their character and always give extra grace to the underdog.
