Elizabeth Harrington Baxley

Elizabeth Harrington Baxley of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 25, 1931 in Sheridan, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Olen Winfred and Virginia Clark Harrington. She was a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan. She enjoyed fishing, flower gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending Yellowjacket basketball games. In her later years, she would sit by her window and watch the birds and squirrels when she wasn't napping. Ms. Baxley died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant at the age of 85. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace "Shorty" Baxley, and brothers, Winfred Harrington and L.C. Harrington. Survivors: sons, Dewain "Butch" Baxley, Jr. and wife Sharon of Benton, Roy Baxley and wife Libby of Merritt Island, Florida; daughter, Sally Loretz and husband Danny of Carlisle; brother, Hosea Harrington of Sheridan; sister-in-law, Margaret Harrington of Sheridan; grandchildren, Shelly and John Allen, Stephanie and Eric Davis, Danny Jack Loretz, Jr., Bruce and Blaine Baxley, Kelly and Eric Vaught, and Robert Baxley; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan with her son-in-law, Danny Loretz, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 p.m. until service time. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Danny Jack Loretz, Jr., Bruce Baxley, Robert Baxley, John Allen, Eric Davis and Eric Vaught.
