Jane Hemme Hilton, "Mama Jane", age 85 of Monticello, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Belleview Estates Nursing Home in Monticello. She was born November 26, 1931 in Dewitt, Ark. to the late Elmer Hemme, Sr. and Sophia Williams Hemme. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was an avid hunter of duck, deer, squirrel and any other game that the boys were hunting. She was a fun person to be with, loved working with children and spent many years working in the church nursery. Mrs. Hilton taught fourth grade at Forrest Park Elementary School in Pine Bluff and taught one year at 34th Street Elementary School before returning back to Forrest Park. She finished her teaching career at Oak Park Elementary School in Pine Bluff. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Hemme, Jr. and Clyde Hemme; and three sisters, Florence Chavelette, Phyllis Fitts and Jo Flanigen. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Jerry Hilton; one son, Jay Hilton and wife Sarah; one grandson, Andrew Hilton and wife Hannah; one granddaughter Emily Hilton all of Monticello; three great-grandchildren, Ava Jane Hilton, Andi Hilton and Rex Elliot Trantham; and three sisters, Patsy Hosford of El Dorado, Sue McAnally of Tallahassee, Fla. and Jimmie Gail Hopson of Roe, Ark. Family visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Pauline Missionary Baptist Church and the memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Taylor and Rev.
