Jerry Alan Tharp, 59, of Newport, died Monday. Preceded by his father, Virgil Eugene Tharp; and nephew, James "Gene" Tharp. Survivors: wife, Beverly Gay (Honey) Tharp; mother, Pauline Lamer; son, Jerry Alan Tharp, II, (Brittney); daughter, Jessica Paige Tippitt (Skyler); brother, James "Gene" Tharp (Robin), his children, Zac Tharp and Misty Golden (Scott).
