On Sunday, February 19, 2017, Sister Helen Louise Blevins entered into God's heavenly kingdom in her 88th season of life. She was born on September 7, 1928, in Gum Springs, Ark. to the late Mr. and Mrs. William and Lilly Anderson. Sister Blevins worked most of her life at Levi Strauss in Arkadelphia, Ark. and was a faithful charter member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include: her cherished husband of 59 years, Wiley Blevins of Arkadelphia, Ark.; three sons, Charles (Elaine) E. Williams, Sr. of Sugarland, Texas, Larry D. (Doris) Williams of Springfield, Va. and Michael Smith of Arkadelphia, Ark.; one daughter, Wanda Blevins-Stephens of Little Rock, Ark.; two step-sons, James H. Blevins of Dallas, Texas and Andrew (Zandra) Blevins of Memphis, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Lynell Stovall of Cary, N.C. and Patricia (Tommy) Hall of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Erma Jean Bryant of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Funeral services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of 1809 Caddo Street, Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923. Public visitation will be Friday, February 24, 2017 at Mitchell Funeral Home from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. with friends and family hour from 6 p.m. -7 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Arkadelphia, Ark. where Rev. Llewellyn Terry Sr. is Pastor and will serve as eulogist. The Funeral will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Arkadelphia, Ark. where Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd, Jr. is pastor and will serve as officiant.
