Brooks Minton Sr., 88, died Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock. Born and raised in South Lonoke County, the son of Van Minton and Audrey (Huckaby) Minton, he was a lifelong resident of England. Brooks was a member of Landmark Baptist Church and also the 507 Masonic Lodge of England. He farmed for 68 years. Farming was not only his life but his passion and his hobby. He was elected to numerous agricultural boards and was named 2010 Lonoke County Farm Family of the year. He loved his land beyond words. His wife of 67 years, Johnnie Mae "Tiny" Minton and two sisters, Eva Nell Evans and Katherine Wallace, precedes him in death. He leaves behind two sons, Brooks Minton Jr. & wife Judy and Greg Minton & his wife Robin; three grandchildren, Meredith Main (Brian), Bart Minton (Kylie) and Nash Minton all of England; five great-grandchildren, Anna Schichtl (Will) of Conway, Ashlyn Anderson (Josh), Olivia Minton, Madison Minton and Kate Henri Minton all of England; two great-great-grandchildren, Marleigh Collins Anderson of England and Blakely Mae Schichtl of Conway. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 6-8 p.m., Pastor David Inzer will conduct the services at Roller England Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017 at 2 p.m. with the burial following at the Mulberry Cemetery in England.
