Gene Ralph Haymond Sr.

Gene Ralph Haymond Sr., age 86, of Camden went to be with the Lord, January 8, 2017. Mr. Haymond was born on October 22, 1930 in Kanawah Head, West Virginia, a son of the late Wade Hampton and Laura Daff Haymond. Following the footsteps of his brothers Zane Haymond and Harris Allen Haymond, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps to serve his country. After his time in the service, Gene stayed in Arkansas as he met the love of his life, Linda Goodgame Haymond. After working for International Paper Company, Mr. Haymond started his own business of moving mobile homes all over South Arkansas. Gene Haymond was a deacon in the Maul Baptist Church. He was a loving and faithful husband and father. Left to cherish his memory is a sister, Loraine McDougal of Dover Delaware; daughter, Judith Ann (Judy) Cox, of Camden, Arkansas; son, Ralph Haymond and wife, Jana of Searcy, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Ashlea Jensen and husband (Matt) of Milton, Florida; Lane Haymond and wife (Kristie) of Cave Springs, Arkansas; Haley Emerick and husband (Cam) of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; and Gene Wayne (Skipper) Canada of Jefferson, North Carolina and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services 10 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 will be held at Proctor Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Thursday. Bro. J.W. Wright presiding. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Proctor Funeral Home of Camden. Memorials may be made to Maul Baptist Church, 101 Gail St., Camden, AR 71701.
