Howard Gly Cothren

Howard Gly Cothren, 85, U.S. Navy Retired and business owner, passed away on January 4, 2017, in Heber Springs, Arkansas. He was born March 16, 1931 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Ebb Cothren and Dorothy (Stark) Cothren and was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Walton "Buddy" Cothren. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Freeda Cothren; daughter, Gail Brown of San Diego, California; sons, Howard Bruce Cothren (Dolores) of Tumbling Shoals, and Steven Cothren (Marlene) of San Diego, California. He is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and brother, Goldman Cothren, and sisters, Connie Lynn and Shelby Morton. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, and funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 201 N. 4th Street, Heber Springs, Ark., with Dr. J.R.
