Mildred Cohen

Mildred Cohen, 98, native of Piggott, Arkansas, died on December 12, 2016. She had been residing in Palatine Nursing Home in Palatine Bridge, New York for almost 1 1/2 years. She was born in Piggott and was the youngest child of Arthur and Iva Sneed (Knight). Mildred graduated from Piggott High School, worked for a number of years then joined the Women's Auxialary Corp. where she met and married Leonard Abraham Cohen, an officer in the Army. They moved around the USA, lived in Germany twice, then settled down in Hicksville, New York where they raised their two daughters, Eve and Suzon. In the 70's they moved to Florida. After her husband's death in 1994 she moved back to New York. Mildred had many talents and varied interests, a woman ahead of her time. She has four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Mildred will be buried with her husband in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at a later date.
