Dwayne Couchman

Mr. Dwayne Couchman, age 83, of Forrest City, died Sunday at his home in Forrest City. Mr. Couchman was born August 1, 1933, in Nettleton, Arkansas, and was the son of Herchalle Jacob Couchman and Effie Imogene Slaughter Couchman. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, was a retired substance abuse councilor for the Behavioral Health Services, Inc. of Arkansas in West Memphis, had taught Biology for the Forrest City High School and was an assistant football coach, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Forrest City. Mr. Couchman married Martha Carter in 1961 and she preceded him in death in 2009. He is survived by two daughters; Renee Tarrant, and husband, Larry, of Cabot, and Cynthia Gaines, and husband, Charles, of Forrest City, one brother, Henry Couchman, and wife, Jo, of Olathe, Kansas, seven grandchildren; L.J. Tarrant, and wife, Mandy, Tyler Tarrant, and wife, Laci, Charles Gaines Jr., and wife, Jaymie, Kyle Gaines, Jacob Gaines, Sarah Beth Gaines, and Carter Gaines, and seven great-grandchildren; Lilly Tarrant, Alyssa Gaines, Hayden Gaines, Lucky Gaines, Cruz Gaines, Broox Gaines, and Creed Gaines. Services for Mr. Couchman will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Forrest City, 1 p.m., Wednesday, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in McCrory. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6 till 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials are to be made to the S.F.C.
