Edell August Usry

Edell August Usry, age 64, of Wilmar, Ark passed away Wednesday, January 25th, at the Bradley County Medical Center with his family by his side, after losing his battle with cancer. He was born February 22nd, 1952 in Wilmar to the late Cozell and Augustine Burt Usry. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the Baptist faith. Edell was a graduate of the Wilmar High School class of 1970, and then attended Pines Vocational Technical School in Pine Bluff, Ark. where he learned to be a body repairman. He worked in that trade for a number of years, first at the Jackson Chevrolet Body Shop in Monticello, then at the late T.K. Ashcraft's body shop in Warren. He then started welding for a living until his retirement. He was a member of Pipeliners Local 798. Edell is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna Harton Usry, whom he married August 20th, 1971 in Warren, Ark.; two sons, Tony Usry and spouse Tanya, Warren, Ark., Ryan Usry and spouse Stacy, Monticello, Ark.; one granddaughter, Samatha Herman-Usry of Bearden, Ark., two grandsons, Jarrett Usry of Warren, and Lane Usry of Monticello, Ark.; one great-grandson, Colt Curry of Bearden, Ark.; a sister, Babetta Milner and spouse Mack, Wilmar, Ark.; two brothers, Dozell Usry and spouse Virginia and F.D. "Pudden" Usry and spouse Donna, Wilmar, Ark.; several nieces and nephews and friends. Graveside services 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 27th at 16th Section Cemetery. Burial in 16th Section Cemetery.
