B.H. "Bill" Gipson, 86, of Bigelow passed away on July 6, 2017. He was born August 15, 1930. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Lillian Muncy Gipson; brothers, Bob and Tommy Gipson; and sister, Sue Gipson Wright. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Alma Lipsmeyer Gipson; sons, Billy Gipson Jr. of Houston, Arkansas, Steven and wife Denice Gipson, Glenn and wife Donna Gipson, and Jason and wife Sara Gipson, all of Bigelow, Arkansas; daughter, Juli and husband Don Shamsie of Perry, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma and husband Flake Powell; brother, Buford and wife Margie Gipson; sister-in-law, Barbara Gipson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bill was a native of Perry County and a life time resident of Pleasant Valley Community. He was an Auctioneer, Welder, and farmer. He served his country as a Marine, in Korea. He served 10 years on the East End School Board, 20 years on the Selective Service Board, 33 years on the Wye Mountain Water Board, ten years on the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission, two years on the Arkansas Rural Development Commission. He was a member for four years of the Arkansas State Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee, 50 year member of Local Union 155 pipefitters in Little Rock and East End Masonic Lodge #758. He has served 25 years as Justice of the Peace in Perry County, a charter member of the budget committee and was currently serving as its chairman. He was a member of the Association of Arkansas Counties and member of the Executive Board of the Association of Arkansas Quorum Courts for 25 years, serving six years as Vice President and four years as its President. He served six years on the Arkansas Legislative Committee. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Saint Boniface Church near Bigelow, Arkansas with Father Richard Davis and Rev. Jimmy Corder officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
