Elwood Perry "Ace" DePontee, 86 of Rogers passed away July 4, 2017 peacefully at his lake home with his family by his side. He was born Feb. 2, 1931 to the late Raymond S. and Irene Tolhurst DePontee in Niagra Falls, New York where he spent his early childhood before the family moved to Costa Mesa, Calif. Ace proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War and returned to begin a 60-year marriage to the love of his life, Charlene Dolloff, who survives. His 30-year career as an electrical engineer with Hughes Aircraft took them to Anaheim, where they raised their family and he served as Assistant Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts before retiring to Rogers, Ark., in 1987. For 20-years Ace served as Captain of the 94-East Volunteer Fire Department in Benton County. Survivors include his wife, Charlene; a daughter Patricia; three-sons Raymond, William, and Frederick; seven-grandchildren; 11-great-grandchildren; extended family members and dear friends. Per his wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
