Charles Neal Humphries

Charles Neal Humphries, age 94, of Rison went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Mr. Humphries was born on March 22, 1923 in Judsonia, Arkansas, to the late John Edgar and Lillie Moore Humphries. He was a graduate of Judsonia High School where he was an All-State basketball player. After graduation, Mr. Humphries enlisted and served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. On December 5, 1944 he married Yolanda Corvese. Charles was a founding member of Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock and a member of Rison Baptist Church. Mr. Humphries was preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda Humphries on August 28, 2016; son, Charles Neal Humphries Jr. and a brother, Earl Humphries. Survivors include one son, Alan Robert Humphries and wife, Deborah of Rison; brother, Guy Humphries of Judsonia, Arkansas; sister, Juanita Pinegar of Searcy; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Humphries of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Sondra, Michael, Renee, Natasha, Mandy, Jud, Lindsey, Joshua and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock with Brother Danny Allen officiating. Memorials may be made to Rison Baptist Church, Jesus First Building Fund, P.O. Box 404, Rison, Arkansas 71665.
