Doskie Lee Stacks Williford Gumm, 61, of Elkins, died Thursday, July 27, 2017 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and numerous strokes. She is pain-free. She was born Dec. 10, 1955 in Fayetteville to Billy and Jessie Smith Stacks. Doskie was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Dean (Bud) Williford; her sister, Phyllis Garriott; her father, Billy Stacks; her step-dad, Bill Garriott; and her mother, Jessie Smith Garriott. She is survived by her husband, Gary Gumm of the home; her daughter, Dena Williford Minnick (Jesse) of Elkins; step-children, Dody Gumm and Scott Gumm of Kansas City; her sister, Barbara Stout (Terry) of Elkins; her half-brother, Curtis Stacks (Shara) of Farmington; her grandchildren, Daven Stewart, Jessica Stewart, Kristina Minnick, Shane Minnick, Katie Minnick, Orion Gumm and Jade Gumm. Doskie graduated from Elkins High School and Northwest Arkansas Community College. She worked for the Elkins Senior Citizen Center and the NWA Community Correction Center for Women. Doskie loved her family, her friends and will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and love of laughter. She was an exceptionally good cook, especially preparing Tex-Mex food using techniques and recipes stored in her head from working at the original Taco Hut in Fayetteville when she was a young girl. She had a big heart, she helped many elderly people, disabled people and single mother's to find help for their needs. Doskie was generous and would give her last dime to help someone. She loved God and believed His holy word. She was not a judgmental person and believed everyone had good in them and deserved a second chance. A memorial celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017 at Beard's Chapel.
