I.V. Thomas, 92, resident of Bee Branch, Van Buren County, Arkansas, since 1978, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Conway Regional Medical Center, Conway, Arkansas. She was born in Langley, Pike County, Arkansas, May 20, 1925, the daughter of Joe Whisenhunt and Novella Morphew Whisenhunt. She married A.T. Thomas, June 29, 1946, in Blytheville, Mississippi County, Arkansas. I.V. led a long, happy, industrious life. She was loved and adored by all of her family members. No one was more genuinely loving and caring than I.V. All who came in contact with her were blessed by her generous spirit. All of her family knew, without a doubt, that they were treasured by her. And she was, indeed, treasured by all who knew her. There just are not enough words to adequately describe how precious she was to family and friends, a one-of-a-kind absolute jewel. Her family's loss is profound. I.V. was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, A.T., on March 10, 2004; one bother, Kemp Ellison Whisenhunt; and three sisters, Vernell Slaughter, Glenna Mae Biviano, and Mary Alice Whisenhunt. She is survived by: one brother, Joe D. Whisenhunt, of Conway, Arkansas; three sisters, Winnie Faye Buononato of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bobbie Sue Clark of Louisville, Kentucky, Bonnie Lou Higdon and husband, Jerry, of Santa Ana, California; two sons, Dwight and wife, Beverly, of Branson, Missouri, and Troy and wife, Jan, of Bee Branch, Arkansas; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Drew Thomas, Jeff Thomas, Garrett Thomas, Eldon Haney, Alex Turbyfill, and Tyler Turbyfill. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, Blytheville, Arkansas. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Blytheville, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.
