Robbie Marie Brewer, Ms. Senior Arkansas 2004, of Van Buren passed Thursday, June 1, 2017 in her home at 95 ½ years old. She was a Minister of music, a piano and vocal instructor, and delighted in bringing music to the lives of all around her. She was a member and past president of Garden Gate Garden Club in Van Buren, Fort Smith Musical Coterie, and Fort Smith Symphony Guild. She was a lifelong member of New Hope Methodist Church where she was the choir director for over 50 years. She also served at Wood Memorial Christian; Midland Heights Methodist and Cavanaugh Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Lee and Annie (Clegg) Gooding, her husband Hal Brewer and two sisters Lucille Gooding and Norma Bennett. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017 at New Hope Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service and burial following at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home Van Buren. She is survived by two daughters Linda Burrows (Fred) of Rogers, Arkansas, and Anita Rister (Dan) of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren Dr. Don Burrows (Laura), Dr. Daryl Burrows (Sandi), Benjamin Rister (Cara), and Anna Messel (Matthew); five great-grandchildren and her caregiver, companion, and best friend Houston McClure, of Van Buren. Pallbearers will be Fred Burrows, Dan Rister, Don Burrows, Daryl Burrows, Ben Rister and Houston McClure.
