Freddie E. Wright

Freddie E. Wright, age 84, of Lonsdale, went to his Lord Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Wright and Ora Lee Wright-Reeves; step-father, Virgil Reeves; and a brother, James (Jimmy) Wright. Freddie was a member of the ROTC in High School where he was activated to the front line in 1950. He served in Korea with the United States Marine Corp from 1950 to 1952. Freddie received two Purple Hearts. Freddie was a Licensed General Contractor and Architectural Hardware Consultant. He was the New Construction Coordinator at Saline Memorial Hospital from 1988 to 2000. Freddie acted as Project Coordinator for the First Baptist Church new Sanctuary from 2003 to 2006. He loved his Lord Jesus, his family, gardening, fishing and building things. Freddie leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Anita; brother, Ross Reeves (Linda) of Benton; four daughters from previous marriages, Janet Alton (Jack) of New Mexico, Rebecca Wright of Little Rock, Teresa Jean Melton (Gary) of Benton and Jackie Childers (Gary) of Little Rock; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews & friends. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6 at Ashby Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Benton or Saline Memorial Hospital.
