Betty Graham Penix

In the words of her granddaughter, "Two love birds are back together now after being apart for close to 20 years. Although I will miss Grammy and wish I could have more time with her, I am so happy she will be reunited with the love of her life again. Hug your loved ones every chance you get." Mrs. Betty Graham Penix, 91, of Tuckerman, departed this life on Sunday, June 4, 2017. She was born October 14, 1925 in Tuckerman, the daughter of H.G. "Gus" Graham Sr., and Beatrice (Ivy) Graham. Mrs. Penix was a homemaker, who doted on her family. She enjoyed needlework, and working puzzles. Mrs. Penix was a former member of the Tuckerman Garden Club, and Pi Beta Phi. She was a member of the Tuckerman First United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, James; brothers, H.G. "Gus" Graham II, and Stephen Graham; one sister, Sue Schreiner; and her parents. Survivors include four children, Jay Penix and wife, Betsy B. of Springdale, Buddy Penix and wife, Carol, of Tuckerman, Lucy Antonovitch and Betsy Penix both of Tuckerman; one sister, Vickie Graham Tucker of Freeport, Florida; ten grandchildren, Judd Penix, Ben Penix (Leslie), Lee Penix, Lindley Gene Penix Pettie (John), Gail Penix, Jake Antonovitch, Andy Glidewell (Brittney), Ben Glidewell, Joe Paul Glidewell, and Matt Glidewell; six great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Murphy, Madeline Penix, Graham Penix, Mary Hollis, Alice Pettie, and Stella Blue Pettie; and a lifetime of friends. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Tuesday, 6-7 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Tuckerman First United Methodist Church, with interment in Gracelawn Cemetery. Her grandsons are honored to serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Penix, Rob Penix, Steve Graham, Gus Graham, Glenn Graham, Danny Burgess, and John Pettie.
